Background
Craig Evans joined First Reliance Bank on June 2, 2008 as Chief Operating and Risk Officer. Mr. Evans's responsibilities
include managing all components of Loan Operations, Deposit Operations, Mortgage Operations, Information Systems,
Call Center/Customer Support, Project Management, and Quality Management, while focusing on our commitment to
quality and discipline of execution..
Prior to joining First Reliance, Evans was the Principal & Operations Executive with Bank of America's Global
Corporate Investment Bank, and served as the Bank of America Community Market President for Eastern Carolina. With
more than 23 years in the banking industry, Evans's career highlights include: senior operations, risk management,
and production roles with leading US banks including Washington Mutual, Fleet National Bank, and the First National
Bank of Chicago.
Over the years, Evans has led large scale projects to purchase, develop, and deploy technology to loan production,
capital markets and servicing operations. He has also participated in numerous portfolio acquisitions and corporate
integrations. His experience with large scale operations has included managing a 6 million loan residential portfolio,
with 3,500 employees across several nationwide campuses.
Education
Mr. Evans graduated from Wheaton College, Wheaton, Illinois where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.
Throughout his career, he has completed various certification programs and is a graduate of the Mortgage Bankers
Association Graduate School of Mortgage Banking.
Memberships
Mr. Evans is an active member of the Florence community and has served on the boards of the Santee Lynches
Community Development Corporation, the South Carolina Black Professionals Group, and the Lake Oakdale Homeowners
Association. Mr. Evans is also an active volunteer for the Reformers Unanimous and a member of Florence Baptist
Temple.
