Jim Roberts Named Senior Vice President Of Operations

July 26, 2005 FLORENCE, S.C. Jim Roberts joined First Reliance Bank, as Senior Vice President of Operations. Mr. Roberts will utilize 12 years of banking related experience to collaborate with the CEO in the overall administration of the Bank. Specifically, Mr. Roberts will be responsible for the institution's operational and technology areas. In addition, Mr. Roberts will participate in the development and support of policy and procedures, risk management, budgeting, compliance, information security, product development, and business banking.

Mr. Roberts is a 1999 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where he earned a Master of Business Administration degree with dual concentrations in Corporate Finance and Commercial Bank Management. Subsequently, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree with dual concentrations in Business Finance and Commercial Bank Management in 1991. Mr. Roberts has also completed several courses through the Institute of Financial Education.

Mr. Roberts is a new member of the Florence community; however, he looks forward to becoming involved in various community-minded civic and charitable organizations. While previously residing in the Gaston County, North Carolina community, Mr. Roberts was committed to the region through his continued involvement in key organizations and events. He was a regular attendee at Chamber of Commerce functions, participated with in the Muscular Dystrophy Association annual fund drives, supported the Downtown Development Association, and was involved with various financial institution trade organizations.

First Reliance Bank is headquartered in Florence, South Carolina where it is one of the only locally owned community banks in Florence. Other offices are located in the Lexington and Charleston. Their Mt. Pleasant office will be opening soon.
