The bank provide alert contacts to you to help prevent fraudulent use of your The Passport Fraud Center will identify potentially fraudulent transactions on your debit card 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and will contact you to verify legitimate purchases, and block your card when needed.
If a transaction on your card appears to be a high risk for fraud a Fraud Analyst will attempt to call you between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. (within your time zone).
- If they are able to reach you, the Analyst will verify the transaction.
- If the transaction is a legitimate transaction the Analyst removes any blocks that have been placed on your card.
- If the transaction is a fraudulent transaction(s) the Analyst then blocks your card and will send an email to the First Reliance Bank with updates to the incident report. Once confirmed, First Reliance Bank will contact you to initiate the dispute.
- If unable to contact you, the Analyst will:
- Try alternate phone numbers we have in your customer records.
- They will leave a message including a phone number for you to return the call.
- They will place a temporary block on your card until they can reach you.
- And lastly, they will send an Incident Detail Report to First Reliance Bank.

Can I use my Debit Card internationally?
Yes, you can use your First Reliance Bank Debit Card while traveling outside the United States.
- Use your Debit Card to get local currency internationally at network ATMs that have the Cirrus network logo on them. Visit the Cirrus global ATM network locator to view a list of ATMs that accept your card worldwide or to download the mobile application.
- Most foreign ATMs require a four-digit Personal identification Number (PIN) that does not begin with a zero. If your PIN doesn't meet these requirements, you can change it before you leave on your trip - just visit any First Reliance Bank branch.
- Your daily purchase limit on transactions is $1,500 and your daily ATM withdrawal limit is $500 or you may ask to have it increased while you are traveling.
- Use your Debit Card to make purchases anywhere Visa® debit cards are accepted. When you present your card for payment, you will be asked to sign a sales slip rather than entering your PIN.
