Who Is Eligible?

The First Reliance Bank Scholarship was created to recognize and assist outstanding students who are pursuing a degree in business or finance at Francis Marion University. If you, or someone you know, meet the following criteria, we invite you to apply for the First Reliance Bank Scholarship.

1. Business or Finance major at Francis Marion University; AND one of the following A, B, or C criteria:
   1. Any child or dependent of a First Reliance Bank employee†
   2. First Reliance Bank customer or immediate family member of First Reliance Bank customer
   3. Graduate of Florence Christian School
2. SAT score of 1100
3. GPA of 3.5 or higher (unweighted)

The scholarship will be awarded based on the approval of the Financial Assistance Committee of Francis Marion University. The Associate Experience Team at First Reliance Bank will assist the University in qualifying the candidate in areas 1/A, B, and C above. Winners are eligible to re-apply each year, provided all qualifications are met.

About The Scholarship

Making your way through school can be challenging – especially if you’re committed to staying at the top of your class. The First Reliance Bank Scholarship is a cash scholarship awarded by Francis Marion University each spring to one winning applicant. The scholarship is good for one academic year (two semesters), and is applied to the winning student’s account the following semester after being awarded.

How To Apply

To apply, simply fill out the application and submit it to any First Reliance Bank branch office (attention Customer Experience Team), or the school office at Florence Christian School. Applications are available at any First Reliance Bank branch location, the school office at Florence Christian School and www.firstreliance.com. The First Reliance Bank Nominating Panel will review all applications, and will select the top 5-7 applicants for nomination to the Francis Marion Foundation. Nominations will be provided to the Foundation by March 1st, or on the previous business day. The FMU Foundation will select the winning First Reliance Bank Scholarship recipient.

APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY FEBRUARY 29TH.
