Job Title:         Business Banker                      

Location:        Charleston, SC, Greenville, SC, Myrtle Beach, SC

Department:   Retail Banking - Sales


Position Summary:
The position is responsible for increasing business banking assets and deposits, identifying customer needs to cross sell bank services and refer customers to other business lines. It is also for managing complex customer relationships, price loans, collecting fees and adheres to credit risk policy to achieve profitability objectives.  In accordance with FRB Values provide exceptional service to the customer and provide pro-active advice with respect to the services FRB can deliver.

Core Responsibilities: 

1. Attraction of New Customers

  • Attract new customers from referrals, networking, leads, by developing an annual action plan to pro-actively source new customers in the market.   
  • Implement a call strategy to contact prospects.
  • Act as a representative of the bank with other businesses, community, and industry groups.
  • Develop an achieve goals for new customers.

2. Expand Existing Customer Relationships

  • Develops detailed and in-depth customer strategies to identify needs and maximize the customer relationship.
  • Develop an annual plan to proactively review customer needs and investigate significant changes in the status of existing relationships.
  • Develop an achieve goals for expanding existing customers.

3. Retain Existing Customers Relationships

  • Respond quickly to customer problems.
  • Assist customers in resolving service issues by “owning the problem” and acting as a liaison between the customer and other areas of the bank.
  • Develop and achieve goals for retaining existing customers.

4. Provide Unique Business Banking Solution for Customers

  • Develops extensive and in depth knowledge of FRB products and services.
  • Subject matter expert on complex banking product and services.
  • Possesses expert knowledge of complex needs based selling, prospecting and negotiating.
  • Possess expert financial analysis, structuring and risk assessment skills.
  • Possesses detailed knowledge of investment and insurance products.

5. Achieve Loan Quality and Profitability Objectives

  • Adherence to credit risk management policies and processes.
  • Ongoing review of loans to insure conformity with terms and covenants
  • Ensure loan quality in line with bank requirements regarding exceptions, write offs and loan portfolio quality.
  • Effectively prices business using discretion and discounts within prescribed guidelines to ensure portfolio profitability.
  • Comply with all industry related regulatory and legal requirements as outlined by Credit Risk Management.

      Minimum Requirements:

      • Bachelor’s degree.
      • Minimum 5 - 7 years experience in a Business Banking role. 
      • Extensive knowledge of credit products and business deposit products and services.
      • Proven communication and customer relation skills.
      • Ability and desire to interact and contribute in a team environment.
      • Ability to use a variety of software tools.
