New Branch Open in Summerville

First Reliance Bank recently announced expansion into the Summerville market area with the opening of a full service branch.  A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Thursday, July 27th by the members of the Summerville Chamber of Commerce.  The Summerville branch provides Personal Banking, Business Banking, Investments and Insurance, and Mortgage Banking.  The office is located at 133 E. 1st North St. Suite #4, Summerville, South Carolina and is open 8:30am -5pm Monday – Thursday and 8:30am – 6pm on Fridays. “We are excited to expand our current Charleston market presence into the Summerville area,”   said Ben Brazell, Charleston Market President.  “It’s a growing area that we’ve wanted to provide full banking services to for quite awhile.  We already have been providing business loans, indirect auto finance and mortgage services to Summerville and now have expanded to be a full service branch in order to support the consumer and business needs of the community.” Jerry Davis, has joined the First Reliance Bank team as Senior Vice President and City Executive for the Summerville Market.  Mr. Davis has an extensive background in banking, during which he worked for several community banks throughout Dorchester County where he held numerous management and executive leadership positions.  His

July 6, 2017, Florence, S.C. – First Reliance Bank was recently named as one of the Best Places to Work in South Carolina. This twelfth annual program was created by SC Biz News in partnership with the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce and Best Companies Group. First Reliance is one of three companies throughout South Carolina who have received the award all twelve years since the program began. This survey-and-awards program was designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best employers in the state of South Carolina, benefiting the state's economy, workforce, and businesses. The list is made up of 70 companies. First Reliance has been named one of this year’s Best Places to Work in South Carolina. Companies from across the state entered the two-part survey process to determine the Best Places to Work in South Carolina. For potential homebuyers with lower than average incomes, there's a South Carolina bank offering down payment and closing-cost assistance that could make the difference necessary to make ownership a reality. This may sound familiar, because I've written recently about homebuyer assistance from the S.C. State Housing Finance and Development Authority, but these homeownership programs are offered by Florence-based First Reliance Bank, using funding from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta. There are a few variations of First Reliance's programs, but each of them offers thousands of dollars in financial help to buyers with incomes that don't exceed 80 percent of the area's median income, depending on family size. So, the income limits vary depending on where the applicant lives, and the size of their family, but here are some examples of how that works out.
