Responsibilities
As Executive Vice President and Senior Credit Administrator, Mr. McElveen is responsible for the bank’s Credit Administration function, ensuring appropriate credit risk for the risk profile as established in credit policies. He is also responsible for ensuring the underwriting and credit approval processes while supporting the bank’s service culture. McElveen is also responsible for coordination with regulatory agencies, loan review firms, CPA’s, etc. during examinations and audits. He provides direct supervision and accountability for Credit Administration, Special Assets and Loss Mitigation & Recovery.
Background
Mr. McElveen has over 25 years experience in credit administration in the retail banking industry. He began his career in the financial services industry with Bankers Trust of SC/NCNB. Over the following years McElveen served in various credit administration roles with increased levels of responsibility with the last being Chief Credit Officer, EVP, of Horry County State Bank where he was responsible for management and oversight of the bank’s Credit Administration function.
Education
Mr. McElveen is a graduate of Clemson University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Financial Management. He completed his CPA exam in May 1992.
