Andrew McDowell

Background
Andrew McDowell joined First Reliance Bank in 2018 and continues to build the First Reliance Bank Team as the Senior Vice President and Regional Executive for North Carolina. Developing new banking relationships with business owners as well as maintaining existing ones. Andy continues to grow the bank and promote the bank’s brand throughout the North Carolina Market.
His career in banking began with one of the largest banks in the region. McDowell brings more than 35 years of banking experience to First Reliance Bank, most of which has been in leadership roles in the Winston-Salem area.
Education
McDowell graduated from Syracuse University with a Business Administration degree.
Memberships and Awards
McDowell, a proponent of giving back to his community serves as a classroom volunteer at Southfork Elementary, a member of the Finance Committee and event volunteer for Family Services, a member of the Financial and Administrative Support Committee for the Moravian Church in America, Southern Province, the Easter Sunrise Service Committee of Salem Congregation, and the Buildings and Grounds chair of Home Moravian Church. He is also a member of the Winston-Salem Regional Association of Realtors-Regional Commercial Alliance.
Past Memberships
McDowell has served Home Moravian Church as a trustee and board chair. He has also held positions as a cabinet member of the United Way of Forsyth County and board member of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Industrial Development Corporation.
