Background
First Reliance Bank hired Michael Edens in March 2022 as Senior Vice President and Market President, Columbia, SC. Edens is responsible for overseeing all lines of business, including personal banking, business banking, investments, and business development. He has more than two decades of commercial banking experience, including personal and business deposit accounts, loans, treasury management services, and investments available through First Reliance Wealth Strategies.
Education
Edens graduated from Wofford College earning a B.A. in Finance. He completed Louisiana State University’s Graduate School of Banking program in 2006 and received the Outstanding Young Banker Award in 2008, the highest award recognition from the SC Bankers Association.
Memberships
Edens currently serves with the South Carolina Banker’s Association (SCBA) Legislative Committee and the Hammond School Board where he serves on the Finance and Diversity committees.
